Claws Ward is a scarer at Monsters, Inc. (company).

Bio[]

Claws Ward is a blue crocodile-like monster with razor-sharp claws, striped tendril like arms and horrifying breath. He is very good friends with Lanky Schmidt and George Sanderson.

In Monsters, Inc., Claws Ward is first seen in a Monsters, Inc. Commercial where he intimidates the fake child, and then at the end of the Commercial. He is then seen walking in Scare Floor in Monsters, Inc. (company) with the other scarers, extending his talons in preperation for his job. On the Scare Floor, however, he runs out of a door screaming because the child he was trying to scare almost touched him. He then proceeds to crying while his assistant calls in a door shredder, making that door the 58th lost in the week. He is then seen at Harryhausen's having dinner. He and Lanky Schmidt were later seen getting some water to drink as Mike Wazowski rushes by them in search of Sulley. While watching Mike's Monsters, Inc. (company) Play Put That Thing Back Where It Came From Or So Help Me, he gets emotional during Mike's singing and starts crying, to which his Claws' Assistant slaps him and says, "Keep it together, man!" (like how he did earlier in the film when Claws Ward was crying because the kid got close to him).

Although Claws Ward does not physically appear in Monsters University, his picture can be seen on a Scare Card during the credits. It is also revealed in Monsters University that he graduated from Fear Tech and formerly worked at Fear Co.

Claws Ward has also appeared in Monsters, Inc. Scream Arena for Nintendo GameCube as 1 of 5 available playable characters.

Personality[]

Claws Ward personality is much like the other employees at Monsters, Inc., as he is a serious worker that acts tough and has a large amount of self-confidence. However, his emotions can get in the way of this sometimes, and he is often insecure with controlling his moods.

Description[]

Claws Ward has a mosasaur-like snout, blue skin tone, with four long claws on each of his hands. He also has tentacles for arms and slender tail.

Trivia[]

  • As he runs out of the door, the "Killin' Paul Bunyan" poster from Sid Phillips's room in Toy Story can be seen before he slams the door shut. This could imply that the child in question may or may not be Sid Phillips.

Quotes[]

  • "The kid almost touched me. She got this close to me!"
  • "I could have been dead! I could have died!"
