Monster World is the space where monsters live. A dimension beside the Human World, monsters use doors to enter specific spots in the human world, usually the cabinets of houses with children in order to acquire power from the laughter of children (or screams prior to the events of Monsters, Inc.).
The Monster World is populated with cities similar to the Human World, such as Monstropolis, powered by the laughter/screams that gets converted into electricity. They have various differences to accommodate the drastically greater variety in monster bodies compared to humans - for example small monsters live in regular sized house complexes but with small doors and windows to fit more of them.
