"Big deal! Guy takes five steps and he's there."
— Mike Wazowski, Monsters, Inc.

Ted is a giant monster that resides in Monstropolis.

Bio[]

When Mike and Sulley headed to work one morning, Mike was disappointed when Sulley made him walk to work, as he would have preferred to drive in his car. After listening to Mike complain, Sulley saw Ted at the crosswalk, and used him as an example as someone who walked to work. However, Mike countered his point with the fact that Ted could get to work within five steps due to his large size.

Description[]

The only part that is seen of Ted in the film are his feet and the bottom of his legs, which are dark green and have a "scale" appearance. His light green toenails are large and pointy.

Trivia[]

  • In the DVD commentary for Monsters, Inc., Pete Docter said that Ted was supposed to sound like Godzilla, but they couldn't get the rights to use his roar, so instead they went the opposite way and used chicken noises. Coincidentally, many of the Godzilla suits produced from 1993 to 2004 were contracted out to a special effects company named MONSTERS, Inc.
  • In one of the film's blooper outtakes, Ted is replaced by Rex from the Toy Story franchise.
  • The rest of Ted was visualized in Tokyo Disneyland's Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek dark ride, hiding behind laundry clotheslines in the city.
